SIVASH sea mud is a highly effective therapeutic mud (sea silt) which is formed in strongly salt-saturated pink brine of the Sivash Gulf (northern part of the Crimea). It is a complex physicochemical dynamic system. According to the physical and chemical index “SIVASH” sea mud belongs to salt-saturated, poorly-sulfide, chloride-magnesium-sodium peloids. Except the valuable minerals, it contains certain biological components and has a slight smell of hydrogen sulfide.

Thanks to the unique, special formation conditions“SIVASH” is considered to be among of the best peloids on the earth. There are no its analogs in the world.

“SIVASH” sea mud is being extracted from the lake manually (by hands); packed without recycling and addition of preservatives, and only a pink brine of Sivash is being poured on the top and densely closed. Thus, it is delivered to the user in its natural form. High concentration of salt protects the mud from microbes in an absolutely natural manner.
Strongly concentrated brine of Sivash has pink color due to very useful microalgae of Dunaliella Salina, developing a large amount of beta-carotene.

“SIVASH” sea mud method of influence

“SIVASH” is a good heat accumulator and may be applied in both warm and cold ways. The body tends to equalize the temperature difference which leads to the beginning of the healing process. In case of warm mud applications the heat is being slowly and gently transferred to the skin and, moreover, it heats not only the surface but also the deeper layers of the body.
Therapeutic mud dries inside out, and in its turn, that creates the vacuum effect on the skin and promotes clarification of pores. The pores are opened; the harmful particles, fatty deposits and impurities are ejected.Skin is better supplied with oxygen and nutrients.Due to the very small structure of SIVASH, occurs a skin massage that irritates a large number of receptors. It leads to improvement of blood supply and sweating. Cornified skin particles are enveloped and softly eliminated; decrease itching. Therapeutic mud has a high mineral content with the most of the chloride-magnesium-sodium ions. Thanks to an ionic exchange the silt mud enriches the skin with minerals. An important role is played by a high content of magnesium (4g / l), along with a small amount of calcium (0,4 g / l). In the process of minerals’ penetration the skin is supplied with lacking magnesium salts. In this case magnesium ions displace calcium ions from their connections. This effect is also known from the skin diseases treatment on the Dead Sea.

Application method:

“SIVASH” may be applied externally in a warm or cold way. Warm procedures (38-42 °C) are recommended, for example, in case of chronic diseases of bones, joints and a backbone. Here it is possible to carry out a test of cold and warm hand: if a cold hand lay to a sore place and the feeling is more pleasant compared to a warm hand, the mud should be applied in a cold manner.

It is better to heat the mud on a water bath. The mud is being put in a cellophane bag and immersed in warm water (it is necessary to make sure that fresh water does not get to the mud).Instead of a bag it is possible to use rather a big film piece, having scooped by the middle of a film the mud and after that having created a film pouch. In a heating season the mud may be warmed by putting a bag on an electric heater. Too high temperature and microwaves influence negatively the biochemical composition of the mud and worsen its therapeutic properties. As a source of heat it is also possible to use a hot-water bottle, having previously applied the cold mud.

“SIVASH” may be easily applied in house conditions. It is desirable to perform the procedures in the evening as the mud continues “to work” even after washing it off and, meanwhile, the body needs to rest.
For the purpose of treatment of the musculoskeletal system and acne after applying the mud (1-2 mm), the place should be covered with a thin film or a wet scarf. From above the dry scarf and a warm blanket are put as well. In case of psoriasis, neurodermatitis and face acne the place of mud applying should not be covered.

Mud application time varies, depending on the disease or the use of mud. In short-time applications “SIVASH” is applied for 10-30 minutes (for instance, until the mud gets dry), in long-time — 30-60 minutes and with good endurance up to 90 minutes. After application the mud should be rinsed off with warm water or removed from the skin, and the remains wiped with a damp cloth.

Tip: We recommend you to scoop the mud from a can with rather a big piece of a film and to form it in a pouch. Dip the pouch in the water warmed up to 60 °C, in order the mud become heated to the necessary temperature. Apply the mud on the skin directly from a film and cover this place with the same piece of a film.

Before the first treatment procedure it is recommended to apply the mud 2-3 times on your feet for 10 minutes. It will help a body "to get ready" to the mud's effect.
Examples of application of “SIVASH” sea mud
Method of application of the sea mud for chronic diseases of the bones, joints and a backbone (rheumatism, arthrosis, arthritis, gout ...)

Warm up the therapeutic mud on a water bath up to 36-42 °C and apply it on a problem area with a layer thickness of 1-2 millimeters. Cover it with a thin cellophane film and warm blanket from the top. Procedure duration —30-40 minutes. Then wash it away with warm water.
Procedures are recommended to be carried out before bedtime every day or every 2 days, or in case of necessity. Treatment course duration — 8-9 procedures. Then make a break. Repeat the course in 3-4 months.

Application of “SIVASH” sea mud for treatment of back diseases (radiculitis, intervertebral hernia, vertebral pain syndrome...)

Apply the mud warmed up on a water bath up to 36-42 °C along the backbone or on the painful area with a layer thickness of 1-2 mm. Cover it with a thin cellophane film and warm blanket. Procedure duration — 30-40 minutes. Then wash it away with warm water. Soothing effect mud application doesn't need to be warmed up.
Procedures are recommended to be carried out before bedtime every day or every 2 days, or in case of necessity.Treatment course duration — 10-12 procedures. It is possible to repeat the course 2-3 times a year.

Application of “SIVASH” sea mud for disposal of acne and rising

Apply the therapeutic mud warmed up on a water bath up to 36 — 38 °C on the affected areas of a body with a layer thickness of 1 — 2 mm. Cover it with a thin cellophane film and warm blanket (not on a face). Procedure duration — 30-40 minutes (on a face — 5-15 minutes). Then rinse the mud away with warm water.
Procedures are recommended to be carried out before bedtime every day or every 2 days, or in case of necessity.Treatment course duration — 10-12 procedures. It is possible to repeat the course 2-3 times a year.

For treatment of atopic dermatitis (atopic eczema) and psoriasis

Apply “SIVASH” therapeutic mud, warmed up on a water bath up to 37-39 °C, on the affected areas of a body with a layer thickness of 1 — 2 mm.
Procedure’s duration will take about 30 min., i.e. before full drying of mud on a body. Then wash it away with warm water.

Treatment course —15-20 procedures; apply it the day after day or after 2 days in a row with a break on the third day.

Are there any contraindications connected with mud treatment?

“SIVASH” therapeutic mud is a natural remedy and if used properly, doesn’t harm to a body. But there are some cases when you should refrain from using the mud on the large areas of a body.
First of all, those are chronic and acute diseases, severe form of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, active tuberculosis, thyrotoxicosis, glomerulonephritis, liver cirrhosis, pregnancy (second half) and lactation period,  oncological diseases, periods, general medical contraindications for mud using, individual intolerance. In each case it is necessary to consult a doctor.
